Even the Bible in the famous “Song of Songs” praises the female breast with words of immense admiration. Also, many masterpieces of painting depict the mystery and power of the female breast.

If you are a “mature” woman, if you have had one or more pregnancies or a lot of weight loss you may have noticed that your breasts do not look as youthful as before. Your skin may not be as firm, gravity may have taken its toll and the result may not be attractive.

There is a way to turn “the clock back” and it is called “breast lift plastic surgery“, which can be combined – for more volume – with a silicone insert for simultaneous breast lift and augmentation. It is one of the most impressive plastic surgery procedures!

What is a breast lift?

Η breast lift also known as mastopexy or (breast lift) is the procedure in which surgery is performed on the empty and slightly drooping breast to create a new shape with a youthful and “full” image.

The main causes of breast sagging are gravity and time (as the woman ages). Pregnancies, breastfeeding, reduction in skin elasticity and weight loss also affect the appearance of the breasts.

Breast lift is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures. Last year in the U.S. 70,000 such procedures were performed, a 70% increase from 2000.

WITH A MOMMA

Anaesthesia: Neuroleptoanesthesia or General.
Place: Organized and fully equipped clinic.
Duration: 2 – 3 hours (3 – 4 hours if necessary and incremental in parallel).
Eve: Usually 1 night.
Pain – Discomfort: Milder than expected. More discomfort if done in parallel and augmentation with silicone. Taking painkillers for 3 – 4 days.
Swelling – Bruising: Improvement in 10 days.
Stitches: Usually absorbable, do not need to be removed.
Work: possible return to work in 3 – 7 days.
Exercise: It is advisable to avoid it for 3 weeks. Gradual reset.
Final Result: It will take full maturation of the scars, usually 9 to 12 months.

THE PREPARATION

At the initial visit, a detailed description of the patient’s expectations for the desired result is made. The doctor then goes on to explain in detail what is feasible and realistic to do and what is not, as well as what techniques exist, their advantages and disadvantages and what is best for each. Smoking cessation is recommended at least 2 weeks before the surgery.

They should be reported to the doctor:

Diabetes mellitus.
Hypertension, heart problems.
Taking medicines.
Problems with the liver or lungs.
Psychiatric diseases.

THE INVASION

Complications are rare but if they do occur they will be treated accordingly:

-Reaction to anaesthesia.

-Asymmetry.

-Inflammation.

-Ematomy.

-Chaloid (swollen scar).

-Wound breakdown.

-Late healing.

-Heart scar.

-Belief.

Extensive discussion with the doctor and understanding all the instructions keeps complications to a minimum.

THE RENEWAL

On the next day of the operation, the gauze will be removed and the support bra will be applied for 1 month.

Possible moderate pain, swelling and bruising in the first few days. Taking painkillers, anti-inflammatories and perhaps antibiotics (not always).

Weight avoidance for 3 – 4 weeks.

Protect the stitches from water for 3 weeks.

Avoiding prone sleeping position for the first 2 – 3 weeks.

Loose clothing is recommended.

Maintaining a stable weight (balanced diet).

Daily hydration of the breast.

A special cream is suggested that should be applied to the scars for best results.

The procedure can be combined with other procedures such as rhinoplasty, cheek augmentation, genital aesthetics, liposuction, etc.
